Who We Are

About Us

To be recognized as a place for development and growth in terms of its players, fans, and community. We will invest in the quality of your children's memorable experiences by creating an environment that enhances fun, camaraderie, knowledge of the game, and affords each child the opportunity to improve his/her skills and reach their goals.

Toro vision is to provide a youth soccer program that inspires players to reach their potential and experience the rewards of pursuing excellence, teamwork, and sportsmanship. The desire to win is obvious, however, not when it interferes with our philosophy on how the game should be played. Developing a well-educated player with great habits on and off the field is our priority.

Our Core Values & Beliefs:
Demonstrate honesty, integrity and respect in all we do Instill a life long love of the game Build a strong sense of community among all of our families Develop all players, regardless of skill level, to their full potential

Toro strives to be recognized for its success in turning young potential into successful players by holding them to a high standard in a supportive environment.

Development before Results. At Toro, we are committed to producing players with advanced technical skills, who value ball retention, who are able to operate in multiple positions and play attractive soccer.

Our emphasis at all stages is to stress individual improvement/growth and to build players that will be part of winning teams in the future. Our aim is to educate and create long-term relationships with our families.

About Our Director Of Coaching
Diego Garcia

A New Braunfels native, Diego represented many of the top San Antonio clubs and played at all levels including D1, Premier, Pre-Academy/Academy and even ODP as a junior player. Diego Garcia now holds NSCAA qualifications and is considered by many of his peers to be one of the most skillful players of his generation.

Offers from all directions arose for him to play college soccer.  However, after having the opportunity to coach while attending school, he knew his passion was coaching children. A big part of this decision was knowing, from a coach’s standpoint, that his style of play and focus on technique would be instilled in every player he had the opportunity to train.

"I have a passion for working with kids on the field. I greatly value their time and effort while we both strive to grow.  As a player myself, I have had many coaches and mentors with different mindsets and approaches to the game we all enjoy, some more influential than others.  With these playing and coaching experiences, it is clear to me that the environment we create on and off the field means everything.  Painting the picture, that balances hard work and fun in each exercise, is what makes what we do an art; an art I strive to understand each day.”DG
